“I loved the balance of Zoom lectures and hands on studio practice. When the training weekend is over recorded classes can be revisited for extra reinforcement.”

Suzy Green, E-RYT 500
Teaching Yoga since 2004
Suzy, one of the original founders of Three Trees Yoga and its Yoga Teacher Training, continues to serve as a Faculty Member because of her love of teaching chakras philosophy. She is a 500ERYT and a certified yoga therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. In 2005, after listening to a recording by Kristin “Kaoverii” Weber on the Tantric Chakra System (different from the system you might be familiar with), Suzy found herself on a plane to Toronto to study with Kaoverii. This information has changed how she understands herself and others and how she navigates the world. She is thrilled to be sharing it with the Yoga Teacher Training Class of 2023 and students of Three Trees Yoga.

Our journey wasn’t a straight line. Yours may not be either. The key is to lean in to what lights you. Then watch where it takes you. You may use your yoga teacher certification and share what you love with your own group of students. Or you may take your inner transformation and teach by the way you walk through life. For sure you will forever have the support from a community of seekers who have found the same joy in yoga that you have. Heed the inner voice that calls you to take a leap of faith. It’s time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most of our 250+ graduates were working full time, going to school full time and/or raising kids. Our unique hybrid model of at-home zoom training; access to recordings and in person training allows you more flexibility and freedom.
Most of this training is experiential. It’s ideal to spend some time on your own mat integrating what you’ve learned between weekends. Usually there is some reading, an anatomy worksheet and an occasional writing assignment. All are designed to reinforce what you just learned rather than check up on you. No one ever does this training perfectly. Some weekends you may show up on top of things and other times you may skid into class by the skin of your teeth! That is life and we get it.
A foundational principle of this training is that all bodies are unique and have their own abilities and limitations. Safety in the postures and figuring out what is best for you while also understanding it may not be best for someone else is critical. Our trainees have experienced illness, unexpected surgeries, and (be warned!) frequent pregnancies during our 10 months together. We’ve had an 18 year old and a 68 year old in the same class. Some have registered knowing they could participate in little of the asana but wanted the full depth and breadth of yoga knowledge that is offered. Some went on to become incredible meditation or gentle yoga teachers. Whether or not you can do a headstand or put your foot behind your head is not important. Enthusiasm for learning is.
You are welcome! Right now, you don’t need to know if you want to teach or not. Here is your chance to really dive in and learn from caring teachers who are passionate and knowledgeable about their area of expertise. There just isn’t time in a typical yoga class to dive into the many layers of yoga that can transform your relationship to your body, your self and your world.
No problem. One of the strengths of this program is the digital content and the recordings of classes that allow you to catch up when your schedule prevents you from being there live. You may need to do a private session with the asana teacher. We can help you figure it out
A growing body of research shows yoga to be an effective discipline that health care professionals are incorporating into their patient care and education. Mental health counselors, physical and occupational therapists, massage therapists, life coaches and more have found that the training they received from this program enhanced the care they provided to their patients and clients.
Because of the quality of instruction you will receive and how prepared you will be at the end of the program. Check out the teacher bios for area studios and fitness centers and notice how often they hired graduates of Three Trees. We’ve been doing this for over a decade and just get better every year. Sadly, when we did our own advanced trainings we saw 200 HR graduates who didn’t feel confident enough to teach and were far behind our trainees in their knowledge in a myriad of areas. Sure, you can do a fire hose method and get your certification faster but what kind of teacher will you be? We have found that it takes time to absorb the depth of information, ideas and new ways of practicing that we give you. We live in such a “hurry up and get it done” culture it can be tempting to apply that here too. Invest in yourself and see what happens when you spend a good 10 months immersed in yoga, supported by compassionate teachers and surrounded by a like minded community of learners.
