Tai Chi Advanced Fine Tuning a Six Week Series: In Studio & Online – with Wayne Schwisow
April 21, 2022 – 4:45 pm – 5:45 pm

Tai Chi 24 Short Form, Yang Style, Advanced Fine Tuning (Open to Current and Former Tai Chi Students)
6 sessions to fine tune the movements from the 24 Form of Yang style Tai chi. You will be able to flow through the full 24 forms and also focus on improving small segments of 4 consecutive forms each week. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese system of slowly flowing movements and shifts of balance that strengthens the legs while conditioning the tendons and ligaments of the ankles, knees, and hips, increasing their range of motion and making them more resilient, less prone to injury. The constant weight shifts practiced in Tai Chi increase balance and body awareness, leading to greater ease of movement within the practice and in everyday life. Tai Chi is a physical practice that focuses the mind, while conditioning the body. Tai Chi is associated with the following benefits: more efficient breathing, reduced blood pressure, slower declines in cardiovascular power, increased bone density, increased strength and range of motion of joints, greater leg strength, knee strength and flexibility, reduced levels of stress hormones during and after practice, improved immune function, and heightened mood states.
