Craniosacral Therapy (CST) – What is it?

The Craniosacral System is a core physiological system that comprises the soft tissue and bones of the head (cranium), the spine down to its tail end (the sacral area), and the pelvis as well as all the membranes that surround & connect these structures.  An important function of this system is the production, circulation and reabsorption of a fluid called Cerebrospinal Fluid which circulates throughout the skull and spine. The Cerebrospinal Fluid maintains the physiological environment in which your brain and nervous system develop, live and function.

The production, circulation, and reabsorption of this fluid create a rhythm called the Craniosacral Rhythm which is as important as the respiratory or cardiac rhythms and which requires the cranial bones and membranes surrounding the brain to expand and contract without tensions and restrictions.

CST is a gentle method of detection and correction of structural restrictions wherein the therapist uses delicate manual techniques to release problem areas. It helps increase physical vitality and wellbeing not only affecting structural change but also having a much wider implications, emotionally and spiritually.
In a typical session you will lie fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table.

Acutonics - Harmonic Medicine
The Acutonics Healing System is an energy-based, non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture.
Precision calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points to access the body's Meridian and Chakra energy systems.
The sound waves of the forks vibrate and travel deeply into the body along energy pathways, affecting human physiology and reaching places not easily accessed by traditional medicine. Applying the forks stimulates and balances the body's physical and subtle energy field to promote healing and inner harmony.
Listening to the forks speaks to us deeply by connecting with our vestibular system, within the inner ear canal, and accessing our sense of motion, balance, space, memory, and healing.

Tuning Forks - Transformational Tools for Transitional Times
Acutonics is a powerful and deeply transformational work.
It links ancient sciences and arts with modern healing methods and tools.
This holistic modality uses sound and vibration to heal the body, mind, and spirit.
At its roots, we recognize that to truly heal we must hold a unified view of the cosmos in which all things are inextricably bound and exist in relationship to one another whether it be an organ system, family system, ecosystem, or solar system.
The Acutonics system is grounded in the wisdom of 5000-year-old healing practices based on cyclic energy flowing in pathways in the body, and in elliptical and circulating fields outside the body.
The methodology is both scientific and shamanic. Harmonic Medicine aligns, re-harmonizes, and attunes the human energy fields to achieve optimal health, actualization, and wholeness.

Some of the conditions successfully worked with are:

Arthritis, Back Pain, Bronchitis, Digestive Problems, Injuries, Fatigue (chronic or acute), Immune System Dysfunctions, Insomnia, Menstrual Pain, PMS, Migraine, Headache, Post-operative conditions, Rehabilitation after Accidents, Sciatica, Scoliosis, Sinusitis, Stress Related Illness, Tinnitus, TMJ (jaw) Problems, and many more.

CST also supports other healing work such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, dental work and psychotherapy.

Thai Yoga Massage: What is it?
Also known as “Assisted Yoga,” this unique healing arts system is based on Ayurvedic Indian Medicine, Buddhist spiritual practice, and Yoga. Though its origins are obscure; Thai Yoga dates back more than 2500 years and is utilized as a medical treatment in Thailand. Traditionally, Buddhist Monks were taught Thai Yoga Massage in Monasteries. This allowed the Monks to sit for hours in meditation, and relieved them of aches and pains. Recognized as a practical application of Metta – loving kindness – Thai Yoga allows for the fulfillment of the Buddhist teaching of bringing higher ideals into everyday life.

The six elements of Thai Yoga Massage are: Yoga, exercise, meditation, reflexology, acupressure, and healing art. Many benefits are noted from not only receiving, but also giving Thai Yoga Massage, such as: achieving a harmonious state of being by having energy balanced, increased awareness of body, feeling stretched, energized and alert, as well as increased flexibility and looser joints.

When receiving Thai Yoga, you’ll be guided through a series of Yoga postures while opening the body’s Sen Energy lines. Similar to Chinese Meridians, the Sen Energy Lines travel throughout the entire body. Though unlike the Meridians, Sen Energy lines originate mostly at the naval where it is believed your “life force”, Soul, Chi, Qi, or Hara exists. These lines can become “blocked” during times of stress, trauma, even everyday activities that leave your body tired, constricted, and out of balance. During Thai Yoga Massage, I will stretch your muscles, palm and thumb acupressure points on your Sen Energy Lines, and help you establish effective meditative breathing; all of this facilitates the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Thai Yoga Massage can realign and restore your body’s natural vitality. As an added benefit, Thai Yoga Massage deeply enhances your yoga practice, while being a harmonious and therapeutic “dance” between you and I. You will need to wear loose and comfortable clothing as this massage does not use oils or lotions, and is performed on a mat, fully clothed. See you on the Mat! - Namaste’, Kathy
